A different perspective on the Edsa Revolution of 1986 entitled “What the Philippine Media isn’t telling us”

Sigh. Fraternity relations are more complex than what you think. Yes, it is indeed an open fact in UP that Marcos and Ninoy are frat brothers.
Ninoy as Marcos’ #1 successor is only known by Marcos’ Inner Circle and I think Imelda don’t even know about this. Though in the open, they think Enrile (of the other fraternity) is gaining the upper hand of Marcos.
Ninoy is eyeing the presidency as early as 1973, but why Marcos delayed him?
Very interesting video. This is an angle of the recent past that Filipinos were not informed enough about. All we’re shown are the glory days. A lot of the facts are concealed.
The worst part is, the educational aspect is suffering more and more as the days go. Businesses booming, capitalists enjoying the luxury, all the money going to the richer ones, while the poor Filipinos remain poor and uneducated, taking part in crime and other bad stuff going on.
I’m in no position to say anything about the government’s stand, but really. We can’t deny that a lot of people are suffering, plunging into poverty as each day passes.
It’s really sad that the gov’t continuously favors those who can already fend for themselves and neglects those who need it the most—the REAL Filipinos of our time who work their asses of twenty hours a day to feed their family rice and tuyo for breakfast.
Wrong priorities? I don’t know. I don’t know enough to say what’s wrong. And that’s where what’s wrong comes in—(mis)EDUCATION.
Hopefully the president knows how important education is to the state and not let the capitalists dictate the education of the country’s youth. Really.
As for the 2% democracy thingy part in the video… well, it’s just a representation. I think the 2-3 million could have well represented what the Filipinos really wanted during that time. Just saying.
A little bit of everything that amuses me (wanderlust, The Beatles, funny stories, smart quirks, vintage movie posters...). With a hint of a fast internet connection, boredom and irregularity ;).
